Pillar 02
Programsand teaching.
From the boardroom to the first-year classroom.
Artificial intelligence changes what a business education has to produce. The Institute works on that across every level the school teaches: boards and senior executives deciding what to do about it, doctoral candidates building the evidence, graduate students who will lead the transformation, and undergraduates who will enter organizations already reshaped by it.
The Institute does not run the degree programs. It brings research into them, and it builds the executive and experiential programs where the research meets practice fastest.
Commitment
A standard for teaching in the age of artificial intelligence: students who can work with these systems, judge their output, and take responsibility for the decisions that follow.
Executive educationand certificates.
Programs for corporate boards, executive teams, and senior leaders on adopting and governing artificial intelligence, delivered as open-enrollment certificates and as custom programs built for one organization.
- BoardsWhat directors need to ask, approve, and oversee when the organization deploys artificial intelligence
- ExecutivesLeading an AI transformation: strategy, operating model, workforce, and governance
- CertificatesA stackable certificate line in artificial intelligence for business, beginning with AI agents
- CustomPrograms designed for a single organization, built on its own decisions and data
Doctoral andgraduate.
Doctoral
PhD and Executive DBA
Doctoral candidates work inside the Institute's research areas, with faculty leads as advisors and dissertation chairs. The Executive DBA brings senior practitioners into rigorous research on the problems they are living with, which is how a number of the Institute's industry relationships begin.
Graduate
MBA and specialized master's
Institute faculty teach digital transformation and artificial intelligence in the MBA, the Online MBA, and specialized master's programs. Research from the Institute's areas of focus enters those classrooms while it is still being written.
For partner organizations: doctoral and graduate students are the most direct way an industry partner meets the talent the school produces. Sponsored research projects and Lab engagements both end with student presentations to the partner's leadership.
Undergraduateexperiential learning.
Digital-First Lab ↗Partner program · Established 2023
Miami Digital-First Lab
A digital-first student experiential learning lab at the University of Miami Business School, directed by Alex Korogodsky. Student teams are paired with outside organizations and ship working AI systems, dashboards, and product prototypes, free to the partner, through the school's Applied Career Experience framework.
How it works
The Lab runs a structured needs assessment before a team is assembled, five to ten weeks of faculty-supervised delivery during the semester, and a real technical handoff after the final presentation. Projects have run across financial services, digital health, live events, sports performance, food and beverage, aerospace, environmental technology, and decision intelligence.
Organizations with a working digital or AI problem submit it directly to the Lab.
The other undergraduate track
Undergraduate research
Where the Lab builds software for a partner, the Institute's undergraduate research program answers a research question with one. Business undergraduates work a full semester with a faculty lead and publish under their own names. Two students published in IEEE Xplore proceedings in 2026.
Curriculum
Teaching in the age of AI
The Institute supports faculty across the school in bringing artificial intelligence into their own courses: what students should be able to do with these systems, what they should be able to judge, and where the line between using a tool and outsourcing judgment sits.
